FFXIV is a role-playing game developed by Square Enix and published by Bandai Namco. It was released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 15, 2017, and for the Nintendo Switch on December 3, 2017. The game is a sequel to the 2010 video game FFXIII. The skill speed system in FFXIV is similar to that of other Square Enix RPGs such as Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy XIII. When a player character or monster encounters an enemy with high skill speed, the enemy will always hit first, no matter what. This makes it difficult for enemies to land critical hits on players, as they will be able to hit them multiple times before they can even react. In order to increase the player’s chances of surviving against enemies with high skill speed, players can use items or skills that slow down enemies’ movement or attack speed.
