If you’re like most people, you use your iPhone without ever having to swipe. But if you want to answer a call, send a text, or check the time—or any other task that requires you to use your touchscreen—you’ll need to learn how to do it without swiping. Here’s how: To answer a call, first find the phone icon on your home screen and tap it. Then, either press the Home button to bring up the main menu and select Answer Call, or press and hold the phone’s Answer button until it starts ringing. When someone calls, they’ll see your name and number on the screen. To end the call, just release the Answer button or press the End Call button on your phone. To send a text message, first open Messages by tapping its icon on your home screen and then selecting it from the list of apps. Next, find the message you want to send and tap its Send button. To compose a new message, start by typing a few words in the text box at the bottom of Messages and then tapping Send. To reply to an existing message, just tap its Reply button (it looks like two arrows pointing down) and type your response.
