If you’re like most Xbox One owners, you probably have a few headsets lying around your house. But if you want to use them with your console, you’ll need to connect them first. Here’s how:

  1. Open the Xbox One Settings app and select “System.”
  2. Under “Audio & Video,” select “Headsets.”
  3. On the left side of the screen, under “Devices,” select the headset you want to use. If it’s not listed, it likely isn’t connected to your Xbox One yet.
  4. Under “Audio Output,” select “Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter.” If your headset has an audio cable attached, connect it here instead.
  5. Select the microphone on the other end of the adapter and press OK. The console will scan for available devices and should show a green checkmark next to your headset if it’s connected successfully. ..
