Facebook is a great way to stay connected with friends and family, but sometimes you might want to remove a line from your Friends list. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Log in to Facebook.
  2. Click on the Account icon in the top left corner of the screen.
  3. Under “Settings,” click on “Friends.”
  4. On the “Friends” page, click on the line you want to delete.
  5. Click on the “X” next to that line to delete it. ..

Doing this has no impact on your current data because it is only a backup of old chats that are not automatically restored when signing in with the same WeChat account. It can look scary but deleting these files will have no consequences whatsoever, unless somebody else created backups without your knowledge which they may be able to restore at some point in time if these backups are stored offline (which I doubt). If you’re using Telegram, WhatsApp or any other instant messaging app which does not store your chat history by default, then this is less of an issue because even if they do have backups of these chats, it will be much more difficult for them to restore them.

I’ve read a lot about this topic and the only way to truly delete chat history is to delete app data (which I explained above) AND backup your whole phone through iTunes on your computer once you’re done with deleting the data because otherwise your chat history could easily be restored with an outdated or incomplete backup.

There has been no recent update regarding whether LINE stores messages offline when not using their own auto-backup feature so there’s no guarantee that they won’t store anything. For what it’s worth, I did delete my entire LINE account without any problems whatsoever.

The best method is to uninstall LINE from your device completely and then delete the LINE application entirely in your phone’s Application Manager (if applicable) or iTunes (for iOS users).

If anyone is reading this who has used LINE before, you will know that they can easily track you down with their GPS location feature. I have personally experienced this but thankfully Facebook’s “nearby friends” feature never worked well on my device for some reason so it wasn’t too much of a problem. If you don’t want to be tracked by a messenger app like LINE, do not use the GPS tracking feature. As for everything else…it all depends how paranoid you are about privacy issues.
