If you’re feeling like your Play Store account is just taking up space and you don’t use it anymore, deleting it is the perfect way to free up some space. Here’s how to do it:
- Open the Play Store on your phone or computer.
- Tap on the three lines in the top left corner of the screen.
- Select “My Account.”
- Under “Your Account Info,” tap on “Account Type.”
- Tap on “Delete My Account.”
- Confirm by tapping on “Yes, delete my account.”
- You’ll now be prompted to enter your password to finish deleting your account. Enter it and tap on “OK” to finish deleting your account. ..
Google has a guide on how to delete your account inside the “My Account” section of Google Accounts. It’s very easy — you just click Cancel my account button at the bottom of this link and follow instructions that will pop-up. If you’re really sure that you want to abandon all of your Play Store purchases, games installed using Android SDK and other data stored in cloud (collections, lists etc.), check the box next to “Delete products?”. This may not work if you haven’t downloaded anything to your device for a while or if there is no content at all on your Play Store account.
