If you’re a customer of IMVU, there’s a good chance that you’ve heard of the company’s deletion policy. If not, here’s a quick overview:
- Log in to your account and click on the “My Account” tab.
- Scroll down to the bottom and click on “Delete Account.”
- Enter your name and email address and click on “Delete.”
- Your account will be deleted and all your data will be lost!
Actually, there aren’t much ways to delete your account because all data are stored in database via structured query language (SQL). In order to delete your account, some actions must be taken before manage deletion of user data:
Now how to delete account? You just need to follow above steps one by one and finish with step number five, then voilà! All data related to you will be deleted out from our database.

Let’s discuss more knowledge about “Password Reset”“. Why should I reset my password? Because usually IMVU has no way to recover a lost password once an account is deleted because we only keep users.
IMVU has a convenient way for users to delete their accounts. Though your account can’t be deleted if there are still credits in it, you can transfer your credits to another account and then delete that one. It’s also good for preventing accidental purchases when someone else uses the computer where you’re logged in. To delete an IMVU account:
Sign into IMVU using your username and password. On the drop-down menu, select “Account Settings”. Scroll down and click on “Delete Account” under the Account Security section. A pop-up window will appear with a request message from IMVU asking for confirmation to wipe out all of your personal information from its database forever (including avatars). Select ‘Delete account’‘.
Your avatar and items will be deleted immediately. All your content including UGC, messages, photo album, etc., will no longer be accessible to you after IMVU-wide deletion. If you have credits in your account that is more than the cost of pending orders/transactions, it cannot be deleted until the difference has been paid. On a side note: both paid and unpaid transaction history can also be found and viewed on the Transactions section of Account Settings after logging in. Your name will not appear anywhere on the site once your account has been removed; if someone searches for ‘your username’, they will find no pages containing that word (unless another person uses your exact username).
Please note that while your IMVU profile will no longer appear on IMVU, any content that you have created for sale in the Marketplace may still appear in search results if another user has repurchased it from you, so please check with them before deactivating your account. For more details.
