Pocket is a free app for iPhone and Android that lets you keep track of your contacts, calendar, and other important information. If you lose or forget your Pocket account password, there are a few steps you can take to help protect your data.
- Create a new Pocket account if you don’t have one.
- Change your password if you’ve had it since before the iPhone 5s came out.
- Keep all of your important data in one place by encrypting it with a strong password and then storing it on an external storage device like an SSD or hard drive.
Deleting your Pocket account will delete all data associated with it, including search history, bookmarks, saved stories, etc. After you have deleted your Pocket account you will no longer be able to access any posts or comments that you may have made under your username. Deleting an account is permanent and cannot be undone. If you are considering deleting your account we recommend that you create a backup first by exporting all of the data from your account
(1) into an offline storage location
(2). This way if anything needs to be restored later on for whatever reason then it can done easily.
See (2) for more details on how to do this.
Please note that in order to export your Pocket account you must be logged into the web app with the right username, otherwise it will not allow you to access these settings. In most instances that would be your Google Username, but if you have created another Pocket account using a different email address then you will need to use that instead.
