Xbox 360 controllers use a variety of voltages to communicate with the console. The most common voltage is 3.3 volts, but there are also 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 volt controllers. To determine the voltage used by an Xbox 360 controller, you can use a voltmeter or an Xbox 360 power meter. The meter will show the voltage in volts when it is connected to the console. To find out how many volts each controller uses, divide the number of volts by the number of controllers in your system. For example, if your system has four Xbox 360 controllers and each controller uses 3.3 volts, then each controller would use 0.8 watts (4 x 3.3 = 8).
