If you’re like most people, you use Apple’s autocorrect feature to help you get through life’s tough conversations. But if you’re like me, you also use it to fix common mistakes that people make when they type. Here are three tips to help you do just that:

  1. Type the correct word first When autocorrect is trying to guess what word you want it to correct, it often tries to guess the wrong word. So if you want it to correct “Iphone,” type “iPhone.” This will usually work fine, but if your sentence has more than one word, try using a comma instead of a semicolon.
  2. Use the right punctuation mark for the right word If your sentence has a comma after “phone,” autocorrect will try to put a period after “phone.” But this won’t work as well because the comma is used for separating words in a sentence and not for correcting errors. To fix this problem, use a semicolon after “phone” and before each other word in your sentence. For example: IPhone; my; phone; iPhone; my; phone
