If you’re like many PlayStation 4 owners, you may have noticed that your console doesn’t seem to support disc playback. This is due to a recent change by Sony which blocks the use of external optical drives on their consoles. Fortunately, there is a workaround which will allow you to play discs on your PS4. The first thing you’ll need is a USB drive with at least 8GB of storage space. Once you have the drive, insert it into your PS4 and open the system settings. From here, select “System” and then “Storage.” Under “Media Storage,” select “USB Storage Device.” You’ll now be able to see the contents of your USB drive.
