If you have an iPhone, there’s a good chance that you’ve used iring to clean it. But if you’re not careful, it can remove some of the built-in protection against data theft and other damage. To remove iring from your iPhone, follow these steps:

  1. Open the iPhone’s case and remove the battery.
  2. Remove any screws that hold the phone together. Be careful not to damage the phone or its components.
  3. Pry off the adhesive on top of the phone’s glass screen protector using a sharp object or a credit card (or your fingers). Be sure to avoid damaging any of the phone’s circuitry or internals.
  4. Place your iPhone face down on a hard surface such as a counter or table and wait for it to dry completely before re-attaching the screen protector using screws from step 3 (if needed).
