Instagram is a great platform for sharing photos and videos with friends and family, but sometimes you just want to share something with the world. Whether you’re a musician trying to promote your latest single, a filmmaker trying to get your film seen by as many people as possible, or just someone who wants to share a funny story, there are plenty of ways to do it on Instagram. Here are four tips for sending videos on Instagram direct:

  1. Use Instagram Stories. If you’re looking for an easy way to share a video without having to create an entire new post, Stories is the perfect option. Just open up your story and tap the camera button at the top-right corner of the screen. Then start filming! You can even add music and effects if you want, and then share it with your followers right away.
  2. Use IGTV. If you have an IGTV account (which most people do if they use Instagram regularly), you can use it to upload longer videos that can be viewed in fullscreen mode. Just open up IGTV and click on the “Create Video” button in the upper-left corner of the screen. Then start filming! You can add music and effects if you want, and then share it with your followers right away.
  3. Use YouTube Live streaming. If you have a YouTube account (and most people do), you can use Live streaming to broadcast live video from your phone or computer directly onto YouTube without having to create separate posts or videos first. Just go into YouTube Live settings (instructions here) and select “Add Channel from Phone/Computer” from the list of options on the left side of the screen. Then enter your YouTube username and password, hit “Start Streaming”, and start sharing!
