If someone deletes their POF account, it’s important to check to see if they’ve been reported to the police. If they have, you can help them by reporting the deletion to the police.

You can access someone’s profile again after a certain amount of time (if they deleted it) if one of your friends recently chatted with them or added them back as a friend. You will be able to see this because it will say “2 people are now friends”. Then click on the new friend button next to their picture. If they are no longer a POF member, you will see the message “This user has been removed from of and” and if they have not yet deleted their profile, you will still be able to send them messages.

Not by visiting their profile. Facebook has a handy new feature that allows you to delete your account without actually deleting it, so even though you can log in and look around, all of the posts are gone. Gone from anyone’s newsfeed except yours — they’re still there on your friends’ pages and just about anywhere else you might expect to find them. You just have to know where to look (see below).

Online communities like Reddit offer different choices on how much information users share with each other. Leaky found an easy way to tell if someone deleted their Facebook: simply visit or revisit their Reddit profile page after they unsubscribed from r/facebook. It’s not unusual for former Facebook users to lose interest in the subreddit after deleting Facebook, but it’s interesting to see that some on Reddit are now making their disenchantment known while they still have access.

The following example demonstrates how specific poster information is deleted as soon as a user deletes their Facebook account. In this case, a Redditor named TotallyNotACriminal was actively involved in r/facebook when s/he used Reddit over two years ago (the screenshot below is from January 2013). After totallynotacriminal deleted his or her Facebook account.
