If you’re like most PlayStation 4 owners, you probably don’t spend a lot of time messing around with the console’s built-in audio features. But if you ever want to record or stream your gameplay sessions, or just listen to music while you game, there are a few quick steps you need to take. To start recording gameplay footage or streaming live, first make sure that the PlayStation 4 is in “Video Mode.” To do this, press and hold the PlayStation button on your controller until the light bar at the top of the console turns red. Then release the button and wait until the system has finished booting up. Once Video Mode is activated, all you need to do is turn on your microphone by pressing and holding down the “Mute” button on your controller for two seconds. (If you have an older model of PlayStation 4 without a mute button, try pressing and holding down “Options” on your controller instead.) After turning on your microphone, press “Start Recording” on your controller to begin streaming or recording gameplay footage. To stop recording or streaming, simply press “Stop Recording” or “Stop Streaming” on your controller respectively. If you want to listen to music while playing games, simply turn off Video Mode by pressing and holding down the “Video Mode Off/On” button for two seconds until it turns off automatically. ..
