If you’re like most people, you use Gmail to keep your contact information organized and easy to access. But if you have two Gmail accounts, you might be wondering how to unlink them so that your contacts can be easily accessed from one account but still be able to communicate with each other. There are a few ways to do this, but the best way is probably through the Google Contacts app. Once you’ve installed it, open it and click on the three lines in the top left corner of the screen. This will show a list of all of your contacts in both accounts. On the right side of this list, you’ll see a list of all of your Gmail addresses. If there’s a contact for whom you want to unlink from one account but still be able to communicate with them on another account, just click on that address and it will take you to their profile page in Google Contacts. There, you’ll see all of their email addresses as well as their phone numbers and other information.

Currently, I have my personal Gmail being accessed through Chrome on both machines. All files are kept in the cloud storage of choice: Drive / Dropbox. One is accessible from one computer only and the other is available across all machines. This works well because I’m not too worried about anyone gaining access to my accounts since they’re protected by a very complicated password that changes often (and requires Google authentication… so… double protection 👍). If anyone else were to gain access to my hard disks or backup drives then maybe that would be an issue…. keeping that part secure will be a future post – I personally don’t worry about this, because no one else has access to my drives.
